Stone Maiden
On the eve of the summer solstice 2016 that rised to the sky the rare Strawberry Moon this year (the concurrence of the solstice and the full moon), I set out to the neighbourhood of Rakovník town to finally find the mythical Stone Maiden... Another petrified character in my collection of megaliths!
Nearby the Stone Maiden, about 700m from the menhir, you can find the remains of Kokrdy celtic viereckschanze structure from the later la-téne period. Similar sanctuaries (settlements?) can be found also in other places of the Czech Republic - at Markvartice near Jičín, Mšecké Žehrovice, Skřipel near Beroun and in Ludéřov near Olomouc in Moravia.
